Families Actively Involved in Education Our homeschool program is ideal for families who are actively involved in their child’s education. Parents choose the curriculum, design lessons and experiences, instruct, and evaluate the progress of their child’s learning goals. Educational Specialists support learning plans, monitor progress, and maintain regular communication, while parents and students share responsibility for daily learning, engagement, and completion of program requirements. ### Taylion Educator Role The Educational Specialist is the primary contact for parents or legal guardians regarding the student’s educational needs. As such, our promise to you is the Educational Specialist will: - Collaborate with parents to create a personalized learning plan and oversee progress toward that plan. - Offer guidance on curricular and vendor choices and suggest resources to meet the student’s needs. - Document student learning and assess progress in each core class. - Communicate regularly with the parent or legal guardian and the student to ensure academic success. - Hold meetings with the parent or legal guardian and the student to verify attendance, collect work samples, and ensure progress. ### Parent or Guardian Role Support at the parent and guardian level is crucial for student development and success. As the primary instructor at Taylion Homeschool, a parent and guardian’s responsibilities include: - Planning and implementing daily lessons with the support and guidance of a Taylion Education Specialist. - Providing daily academic instruction in core subjects. - Ensuring students attend and complete all required school assessments. ### Taylion Homeschool Student’s Role Responsibilities of a Taylion Homeschool Student include: - Engage in 4-6 hours of educational activities daily, following their personalized learning plan. - Be proactive and respectful with parents, staff, and students during instructional time. - Synergize with others about work completed - Be inquisitive and cultivate a passion for learning. ## A Variety of Curriculum Options Through Approved Vendors Homeschool families have access to a wide range of approved vendors offering high-quality core subjects and engaging electives aligned with state requirements. We offer guidance, tools, and resources to help parents create a dynamic, engaging, and successful homeschool experience. ## FAQ ### Is this program free? Yes, we are a TK-12th grade, public charter school approved by Adelanto Elementary School District. We are publicly funded like traditional schools and do not charge tuition for attendance and participation in our homeschool model. ### Is Taylion Homeschool accredited? Yes, Taylion is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) ### What is the Personalized Learning Program? The TK-12 Personalized Learning Program (PLP) provides a tailored educational experience for students in grades TK-12. Operating under our homeschool independent study model, students enjoy the flexibility of learning from home at their own pace. They also have the opportunity to engage in virtual classes through Taylion Homeschool or participate in classes offered by community providers, either virtually or in-person. Our dedicated Educational Specialists collaborate closely with parents and students to craft personalized learning plans that align with each student’s unique strengths, skills, needs, and interests. ### What counties do you serve? Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, Inyo, Kern, San Bernardino. If you live in these counties, we serve you. ### What does a Learning Period meeting look like? Once a Learning Period (LP), a meeting with the student, Educational Specialist, and the Parent/Guardian takes place virtually. At this meeting, the Educational Specialist evaluates the student’s work to track progress towards their personalized learning goals. ### Do Taylion Education Specialists gather work samples? Yes, Educational Specialists collect samples of student work to create a thorough assessment of their progress and accomplishments. ### Can I choose my own curriculum? Of course! You have the freedom to select your curriculum in partnership with your assigned Educational Specialist. ### What opportunities will my student(s) have for in-person engagement? Students can engage in face-to-face interactions through virtual or in-person classes offered by community providers in our local areas that we currently serve. ### Do you support students that have a 504 plan or IEP? Of course! At Taylion Homeschool we provide wrap-around services for students with 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). ### Does Taylion offer dual enrollment with our local community colleges? Yes, Taylion Homeschool provides dual enrollment opportunities with nearby community colleges. ### Will my student be able to participate in any clubs, prom, or school meetups? Of course! We provide a range of activities and social opportunities for high school students, such as Prom and High School Meetups. ### Will there be any help in filling out college applications?
